With good weather as their ally numerous runners were present at the hart of the event which took place at the Central square of Nea Smirni. The event was organized with the highest standards for once more. The Event’s races consisted of 10Km and 5Km as well as a 2,5Km fun run and the course had the official certification of AIMS.

At 09:00 o’ clock the 10 km run took place and the stream of runners filled the main streets with colour.  with the city mayor, Stauros Zoulakis, giving the starting signal! A colorful river of runners flooded the streets! The runners had on their side numerous volunteers who were more than willing and happy to assist them during their participation!

The organization had very high standards. Olympic and Paralympic medalists were among the runners. World Champions, Artists and Politicians honored the event with their presence. Among other initiatives, in 2018 the Organizing Committee decided to donate almost 70% of the net income of the event in social responsibility foundations such as Actionaid. Also a large amount will be donated to National Paralympic Committee.

The 3rd Nea Smirni Historic Run was organized by the Cultural and Sports organization of Nea Smirni municipality, under the auspices of SEGAS and in co-operation with SAFANS club, Panionios Sports’ Club and the Youth of Red Cross.

We renew our date for next year with 5th Nea Smirni Historic Run!
