If the first Crete Marathon was a huge success, the second step through all expectations and marked with a priceless experience the hearts of all participants!

The Event included Marathon Race, 10 KM and 5KM Race, 2,5KM Charity Run and a Marathon Bike Race (participatory).

The day before the run a torch relay was held in the memory of the humanist Metropolitan Irenaeus Galanakis, followed by an Opening Ceremony, creating a warm and celebrating atmosphere for welcoming the Race.

On Sunday morning thousands of athletes put on their running shoes and enjoined the run of their preference in the beautiful city of Chania! The local community and authorities supported the event with unique care and courtesy while the Event’s volunteers where one of the kind making the participation of every runner, memorable!

The highlight of the Event was of course the Marathon Race which not only is certified by AIMS but what is more is that is composed by a course of unique natural and monumental beauty hard to find elsewhere!
