The 1st Historic Run for lost homelands took place in 4th October 2015 with great participation.

Working closely together with Cultural organization of Nea Smirni municipality, SAFANS club and sponsored by SEGAS we organized an athletic event with strong references to the history of Nea Smirni.

This event was the final one in a series of Ionian celebrations closing the circle in one of the greatest Athens festivals.

Runners had the opportunity to live an interesting experience, running in a certified AIMS course, in a high standards event.

The races consisted of 10Km and 5Km races as well as a small race of 2,5Km. The starting gunshot was given by historic – byzantinologist Helen Glikantzi Arveler and famous painter Alekos Fasianos.

In the event there were a lot of Olympic Champions responding to the call, giving the pace to thousands of runners who participated in the 1st Historic Run.
